What Does Wall Portals Do?

Racket Rivals wall portals can make an opponent cover the wrong side of the court: this awakening turns both sidewalls into portals, sending the shuttle from one wall to the other. The trick is choosing a shot that creates an awkward return instead of an easy smash.

The portals change the shuttle’s route. Aim into a wall to send it through the connection, or avoid the wall to keep its normal trajectory. That choice gives you a way to mislead defenders who move before they see where the shuttle actually goes.

Wall Portals is a five-star awakening in a game that combines badminton, tennis, squash, and volleyball. Racket Rivals centers on fast 3v3 matches, while 1v1 play also gives you a setting for trying the teleporting serve against a single receiver.

Keep these PC controls handy:

  • Swing: Left Click.
  • Power Swing: Hold Left Click.
  • Awakening: 2.
  • Set: E.
  • Dash: Q.

Wall Portals is an awakening, so use 2 to activate it rather than the separate ability key, 1.

Spirits provide their own abilities, while awakenings provide ultimates. Keep those inputs separate when combining a spirit with the portals: 1 handles the spirit ability, and 2 handles the awakening. That distinction matters when you want the shuttle to teleport during a serve.

Aim Your Portal Smashes Close to the Floor

For an attacking portal shot, smash the shuttle close to the floor so it teleports on a low trajectory. Prioritize the height of the shot instead of hitting the wall simply because the portals are active.

The main mistake is sending the shuttle through in a way that gives the other team a comfortable smash. Once opponents start smashing those returns, you can get trapped defending repeated attacks.

Build your attempts around the low shot:

  1. Look for a smash opportunity with a low path toward the wall.
  2. Send the shuttle through the portal close to the floor.
  3. Watch the exit and prepare for the return instead of assuming the teleport has won the point.

Avoid forcing a portal shot when the result would give the opponent an easy attacking ball. The wall connection adds deception, but shot placement still decides whether you create pressure or hand it away.

Other awakenings apply pressure differently. Ground Slam pushes opponents back and slows them, creating an opportunity for a smash. Captain Salute plants a flag that makes teammates faster and more powerful. With Wall Portals, build your attack around the changed shuttle route; the teleport is the mechanic you are trying to turn into an awkward return.

Use a Teleporting Serve, Then Mix in a Fake

A wall-directed serve gives you another way to use the awakening. Serve toward the sidewall, then activate Wall Portals before the shuttle reaches it. The serve travels through the portal and emerges from the other wall, potentially catching a receiver moving toward its original path.

Practice that sequence in this order:

  1. Aim the serve toward the wall.
  2. Activate the awakening while the serve is traveling toward it.
  3. Follow the shuttle’s exit and stay ready for a return.

Once an opponent starts anticipating the teleport, mix in a shot that misses the wall. Aim away from the portal so the shuttle keeps its normal route while the defender expects it to switch sides.

Goji adds a freeze ability to this setup. Use its separate ability input when you want to bring that freeze into the rally, and keep the awakening input for activating the portals. Avoid treating either effect as a guaranteed point: the teleporting serve relies on catching the receiver unprepared.

Watch the receiver before choosing your next attempt. If they commit early to the opposite wall, try the fake. If they keep following the initial path, try the teleporting serve again. Avoid repeating either option automatically—the deception depends on making the defender read the shot.
