Racket Rivals Best Awakenings: Top Picks and Play Tips

Which Awakenings Should You Pick?

If you’re choosing between the Racket Rivals best awakenings, Captain Salute stands out for team play, while Energy Drain shares its S-tier ranking. Captain Salute boosts movement speed and power, helping your team keep up during extended clashes. Ground Slam is another strong choice, with knockback and a slow that help set up a smash.

Here’s how the awakening tiers break down:

TierAwakenings
SCaptain Salute, Energy Drain
AGround Slam, Hocus Pocus, Shred
BFake, Wall Portals
CCurve Shot, Gooey, Tide Wall
DAimbot

The most useful distinctions go beyond the letters. Captain Salute supports coordinated play, Ground Slam disrupts opponents, and Wall Portals rewards careful shot placement. Curve Shot also deserves attention despite its lower placement: its buffed version has earned a much stronger individual rating of 9/10.

How to Use Captain Salute, Ground Slam, and Wall Portals

Captain Salute: Support Your Team During Clashes

Captain Salute plants a flag that increases movement speed and power. Those boosts make it a standout team awakening in a game built around 3v3 rallies.

Use the extra movement speed to keep covering the court during a clash. Take advantage of the power boost while continuing to return shots; the awakening’s value comes from helping the team sustain pressure.

Ground Slam: Create a Smash Opportunity

Ground Slam pushes opponents back and slows them, creating an opening for a smash. It also stands out as one of the easier awakenings to obtain.

Follow the knockback with a smash to capitalize on the disruption. Watch how opponents respond, since some spirit abilities can counter Ground Slam. Avoid treating the initial push as a guaranteed point.

Wall Portals: Keep the Shot Low

Wall Portals sends the shuttle through a wall and out through the other wall. Its placement can produce a tricky return, but a poorly placed shot can hand the opposing team an easy smash.

Smash close to the floor so the shuttle travels through the portal on a low trajectory. Avoid sending it into a position where opponents can repeatedly smash it back; once that exchange starts, recovering the rally becomes difficult.

Curve Shot and Aimbot: Two Picks Worth Understanding

Curve Shot received a buff and earned a 9/10 individual rating, compared with its C-tier placement above. That gap makes it the clearest example of why a tier position shouldn’t make the entire decision for you.

Racket Rivals — Curve Shot and Aimbot: Two Picks Worth Understanding

Give Curve Shot a try if you already have it before dismissing it based on its tier. Its stronger rating applies to the buffed version.

Aimbot has a more specific appeal: it removes the need to aim, which is useful for mobile players. Its drawback is predictability, and its four-star rarity doesn’t prevent it from sitting at the bottom of the tier table.

Choose Aimbot for the aiming assistance if that solves a problem for you. Weigh that convenience against how easily opponents can anticipate the shot.

How to Unlock and Activate Awakenings

Visit the Awakenings NPC and use spins or rolls to unlock awakenings. Results depend on luck, so getting a particular pick can take multiple attempts.

Keep the two ability systems separate when setting up your controls:

  • Awakening: Press 2 on keyboard.
  • Spirit ability: Press 1 on keyboard.

The Spirits NPC handles spirit unlocks, while the Awakenings NPC handles awakenings. Head to the latter when you’re trying to add Captain Salute, Ground Slam, or another ultimate to your options.
