How to Upgrade Your Racket

Extra copies are the key to upgrading your racket. This Racket Rivals how to upgrade racket guide walks you through collecting duplicates, equipping your target, and visiting the coach. Having the correct copies gets you past the coach’s missing-racket message.

1. Get additional rackets. Buy or summon rackets to collect extra copies of the one you want to upgrade.
2. Open your inventory. Find a racket you own multiple copies of. You need matching rackets, so check the exact name.
3. Equip your target racket. Put the racket you want to upgrade in your character’s hand before approaching the coach.
4. Talk to the coach. Choose the dialogue option to upgrade your racket.
5. Select the available upgrade. With the required matching copies available, the coach presents an upgrade option.
6. Repeat when eligible. If you still have enough matching rackets and another upgrade is available, continue through the coach’s menu.

Check your inventory before buying more rackets. You might already have duplicates for another racket you want to use.

Why the Coach Asks for Another Racket

A message asking for another copy means you need more of that same racket. Owning several different rackets does not fulfill a requirement for matching copies.

If you reach the coach and cannot upgrade, work through these checks:

• Read the racket name in the message. Collect another copy of that specific racket.
• Check your inventory for duplicates. Count copies of the target rather than your total collection.
• Check what you have equipped. Hold the racket you intend to upgrade, then speak to the coach again.

For example, duplicates of one racket let you pursue upgrades for that racket. They do not replace the matching copies required for a different one.

What the Christmas Update Changes

The Christmas update allows matching up to 15 rackets. Keep that matching limit separate from the level displayed on your racket; it describes how many rackets can be matched.

The update also makes Divine rackets obtainable for free through spins and removes the Divine shop and early-access offering. Getting a Divine racket and collecting its duplicates are separate goals: after obtaining the racket you want, check for matching copies before returning to the upgrade menu.

Charges also apply to individual rackets, with each charge assigned to one racket. Plan your charges around the specific racket you intend to use.
